Tabby has been quietly working on new material from his home studio – but the Sligo star is about to release some new music and he is ready to set the record straight.

Most people know Tabby as the Irish rocker from the X Factor, however, there’s much more to Callaghan’s story. From the age of 5, Tabby knew there was only one thing he wanted to do in life – play music. This ambition and passion turned from hobby to profession when Tabby started fronting bands and playing gigs in Sligo during his teens.
In 1998, Tabby formed Petronella with his brother Dominic and achieved some chart success in Ireland and played numerous gigs around the country.
When Petronella ran their course, Callaghan entered the first series of ITV talent show the X Factor and shot to international fame. Tabby came third in the competition.
Following the X Factor, Tabby has gigged all over Ireland, UK and the USA. He has had three top 30 singles with the track ‘Number One’ achieving number seven and staying in the Irish charts for seven weeks. Tabby has supported the likes of Tom Jones and Rod Stewart.
In August 2005, Tabby featured in an ITV ‘rockumentary’ titled ‘What Tabby Did Next’.
Tabby has achieved some of the milestones in life that most musicians can only dream of:
Play Wembley – check
Record with Ozzy Osbourne – check
Meet a Beatle – check
Perform to over 200, 000 people – check
Travel the world doing what you love – check
In 2005, Callaghan performed at The Cavern Club in Liverpool, England. During the gig, Callaghan kicked off his boots in order to play in his bare feet, which is his trademark; however, his boots were taken from the stage by a fan. The Cavern Club management then provided him with an old pair of boots in their office which had been left behind by Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones.
Tabby was given a Gibson Custom Gold Top in 2006 – testimony to the real talent this Sligo man has.
Recently, Tabby has taken a step back from the business to focus on writing and recording. The multi-instrumentalist now has his brand new single ‘Manic Star’ ready to go. Callaghan is self-producing and engineering his next album and impressively will play every instrument on the album himself.
Always an energetic and engaging performer, Tabby will soon be announcing live dates across Ireland and the UK.
